Abstract

Nel panel “Advent of Python”, esploreremo l’emozionante “Advent of Code”, un’avventura annuale di programmazione che unisce sfide di programmazione e spirito festivo. Discuteremo cos’è l’Advent of Code, perché è così appassionante e condivideremo esperienze personali e lezioni apprese, evidenziando come questo evento stimoli la creatività e il problem solving. Infine, racconteremo aneddoti divertenti ed i motivi per cui ogni programmatore dovrebbe accettare questa sfida durante le feste. Unisciti a noi per una panoramica del mondo di “Advent of Python”!

I’m Paolo Melchiorre, a longtime Python backend developer who contributes to the Django project and gives talks at tech conferences.

I’ve been a GNU/Linux user for over 20 years, and I use and promote Free Software.

I graduated in Software Engineering, and I’m an alumnus of the University of Bologna, Italy.

I’ve been working in the web for 15 years and now I’m the CTO of 20tab, a pythonic software company, for which I work remotely.

Juna è sempre stata affascinata dalla tecnologia e quando ha scoperto il BASIC sul suo C64 ha capito che non avrebbe potuto più fare a meno di programmare. Quel che era cominciato come una passione è diventato un percorso di formazione continua e di carriera nell’ambito IT. Passa il suo tempo libero tra esperimenti con l’informatica e le community tech.

After 9 years as Data Scientist/Software engineer in Toolsgroup, a company that makes a software for Supply Chain Planning and Optimization, I am taking some time off and working to become a better programmer at Recurse Center. At the time that this conference is happening hopefully I should have a new job… we will see!

I am passionate about Open Source and Tech communities (Python community is the best one :hearth:!), I help organize Python Milano meetup and recently started PyData Milano meetup. I love programming languages, Python is of course my first love, but you might want to ask me about Nim, which I think is a great second language to learn after Python. I have also been studying functional programming languages which I think they are pretty cool (ask me about Elm and Gleam), and yeah, maybe by the time I am at the conference I will have stopped procrastinating learning Rust…

Con oltre 20 anni di esperienza nel settore IT e più di un decennio dedicato alla programmazione Python, attualmente ricopro il ruolo di Tech Lead Python presso Kraken Tech. Oltre alla tecnologia, sono appassionato di “cose che non c’entrano” (filosofia, psicologia, debate, …) interessi che penso arricchiscano il mio approccio professionale.

Sono tra gli organizzatori di PyMI, la comunità milanese di pythonisti.

With over 20 years of experience in the IT sector and more than a decade dedicated to Python programming, I currently serve as the Python Tech Lead at Kraken Tech. Beyond technology, I am passionate about ‘unrelated things’ (philosophy, psychology, debate, …) which I believe enrich my professional approach. I am also among the organizers of PyMI, the Python community in Milan.
